What do Gritty, Snoop Dogg, and a fictitious Rideau Canal have in common?

They’ll all be found in EA Sports’ NHL 20, of course!

The premier hockey video game has released a trailer for the upcoming installment, and it seems like there will be some exciting new features in the first game of the new decade.

The brand new “Ones Eliminator” and “Threes Eliminator” can be found inside The World of Chel. These contests pin 81 competitors up against each other with the goal to be the last person or team remaining in a survival tournament bracket. Player customization also looks to be a focus in the new game as well as replays and outdoor rinks, including a look-a-like Rideau Canal.

Additionally, Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick and Eddie Olczyk have been replaced as the main commentary crew in the game. James Cybulski and Ray Ferraro now occupy the virtual broadcast booth.

The part of the game I’m most curious about, however, is the brief appearance of Snoop Dogg in the trailer.

Is he going to be in the broadcast booth at times? Or will he be heard in the game’s soundtrack like he was for EA Sports’ NBA Live 2003? I don’t know, but both would be perfectly acceptable in my opinion.

If you can’t wait for the game to be released on September 13th, the Open Beta is available from July 26th to July 31st on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
