Toyota Tundra demonstrates trailer brake integration for emergency automatic braking

Toyota demonstrates its trailer brake pre-collision system for the Toyota Tundra at the American Center for Mobility test track. This technology extends its automatic emergency braking system to the trailer brake controller. This allows the trailer to do its part in reducing kinetic energy to help slow or completely stop the truck and its trailer, and prevent jackknifing, if the Tundra’s pre-collision monitoring system detects an emergency stopping situation. Toyota includes its pre-collision system, among other active safety features, as standard on all of its products, and has adapted the system for its main towing vehicle.
