Tornado warning issued for northeastern Lee County, Lehigh Acres

The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a tornado warning for southeastern Charlotte County, northeastern Lee County until 8:30 a.m.

At 7:58 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Fort Myers, moving northeast at 25 mph. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

This dangerous storm will be near Lehigh Acres around 8:15 a.m. and Olga around 8:20. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Fort Myers Shores, Page Park, Page Field Airport, Gateway, Tice and Whiskey Creek.
