Top safety in class of 2024 set to visit UF for this SEC matchup
The latest name to lock in a visit to the University of Florida is KJ Bolden, a five-star safety out of Buford, Georgia.
Bolden plans to be in Gainesville on October 15 for the LSU game, according to Gators Online, making him the latest high-profile recruit to lock in a visit for that matchup. He will join two of his Buford teammates on the trip, four-star edge rusher KingJoseph Edwards and the No. 3 linebacker in the class of 2025, Jadon Perlotte.
The Gators have played host to Bolden a few times already. He met with Dan Mullen’s staff last year and is already familiar with Billy Napier’s group after stopping by in March and June. This will be his first game-day visit to the Swamp, though, so Florida could make up a good deal of ground if all goes well.
Leading the pack is the University of Georgia, which is taking full advantage of Bolden’s proximity to the school. He’s been to Athens nine times already, including the Bulldogs’ Week 2 shutout victory over Samford. UGA sits on top of the On3 recruiting prediction machine with a 35.0% chance to land Bolden. Clemson (10.4%), Alabama (8.9%) and Florida (7.4%) follow.
The On3 consensus ranks Bolden No. 4 overall in the class of 2024 and No. 1 among safeties. The site’s individual rankings have him a bit lower at No. 20 overall, but he’s still considered the top safety in the class. 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals have him ranked in a similar place.
