Crypto-based online poker platform, Coin Poker, has announced that it will host a $100,000 buy-in tournament as it begins to attract more high-rollers.

Coin Poker, which is backed by famous politician and poker player Tony G, featured the largest online poker pot of all time last week, with $1.8 million being chopped between Leon Tsoukernik and Tony G himself.

According to a recent announcement, the tournament will take place on January 27 and will feature unlimited re-buys during the late registration period.

There is no specified guarantee for the tournament. However, in light of the recent high stakes action on the platform it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it reach the $5 million mark.

Coin Poker is platform that enables users to deposit and play poker using cryptocurrencies as it bridges the gap between the two industries.

It also has a native token, CHP, which currently has a market capitalisation $11.3 million having launched in March, 2018.

If this high roller event is dubbed a success, it may act as a catalyst for more crypto-based online games as crypto investors seek some excitement in light of the recent market downturn.
