Toledo's night view chosen as 'world's most beautiful'

Famous landmarks, such as the Alcazar, the Primatial Cathedral of Saint Mary and the monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, are illuminated every night with different shades of light.

The city, less than an hour away from Spain's capital Madrid, recently changed its traditional city lighting to more efficient led lights, one of the reasons it received the recognition.

Toledo, known for its longstanding tradition of swordmaking, is one of Spain's 15 World Heritage Cities.
