Tip Wa Antique Tractor & Engine Club donates to boost Cass County Fair event

Dec. 5—The Tip Wa Antique Tractor & Engine Club donated $500 and two pedal tractors to the Lewis Cass FFA Chapter in Walton last month.

The club members presented the check and tractors on Nov. 8 for its community involvement and outreach at the Cass County Fair. The gifts were made possible by the generous donations of local businesses & individuals within the community.

One of the pedal tractors is a New Holland T8 410 Genesis, and the other is a Case IH 400MX Magnum. They will be utilized for their annual Pedal Pull and Pedal Tractor Race at the fair.

Heather Smith, an advisor for the Lewis Cass Chapter, accepted the donation from Cole McCloskey, who is the chapter president presiding over 182 FFA members and a member of the Tip Wa Club.

The Tip Wa Tractor & Engine Club was formed 19 years ago by a small group of individuals who had the desire to preserve, display, demonstrate, and educate the area's agricultural history, and for present and future generations of agriculturalists to learn about and carry on. The club has over 100 members, ranging from all ages, professions, and economic backgrounds.

With local ties to the community, the Tip Wa initials stand for Tipton Township and Washington Township.

The Tip Wa Club hosts a show the second weekend in September, on the south edge of Walton. Additionally, the club has come to be known for some of its scenic, off-road, tractor drives each spring. Monthly meetings are held to catch up on the latest happenings in the tractor & agriculture world. For more information, contact 765-432-7844.
