The Times' Top 40 Moments: Highlighting the 2021-22 high school sports season
To say the 2021-22 high school sports season in the Beaver Valley was an eventful one would be an understatement. Fifteen teams from the Beaver County Times' coverage area captured a WPIAL title, while six went a bit further, winning a PIAA championship. Individually, 22 local athletes captured District 7 gold, with nine earning the right to call themselves the best in the state.
Needless to say, there were plenty of big moments from the fall to the end of the spring. And with the season now over, we decided to rank them. From big plays under the Friday night lights, to exciting finishes in the spring postseason, there were plenty to pick from. Starting Tuesday, July 5, through Friday, July 8, The Times' sports staff will publish a four-part series that reveals our picks for the top 40 moments of the past high school athletic season.
