TikTok shows woman butchering the name ‘Buc-ee’s’ and Texans are ticked off

Texans are losing their minds after a woman in a now-viral TikTok video absolutely annihilates the name of the convenience store giant Buc-ee’s.

The video seems innocent enough: just a family exploring the wildly popular and huge store — known for its squeaky-clean bathrooms, jerky bar and Beaver Nuggets — for the first time. Only, it takes a quick left turn into nope-ville when the woman known as @crazy.life.of.ash attempts to say the name while showing her kids standing in front of the Fort Worth location — but misses the mark completely.

“Ok, it’s our family’s first time at Busey’s,” she says.

The first line sets the tone for the rest of the video, where the woman proceeds to call Buc-ee the Beaver something entirely different.

“People in Texas really like their gophers.”

Chances are, if you’re a die-hard Texan, you threw your phone out of a window around that time.

Needless to say, the comment section of the video turned into a rodeo of bitter responses from shocked Texans.

“Having been born and raised in Texas this is the most cringe thing I’ve ever seen,” one person said.

“Tell me you’re not from Texas without telling me you’re not from Texas,” another commented.

“Who the hell is Busssssseeeeee???!” another exclaimed. “Don’t ever. Ever. Ever come back.”

“You just triggered all of Texas,” one person said.

“I’m from Oklahoma and even I was offended for Texas,” another said.

@crazy.life.of.ash hinted at the possibility that she was joking in the comment section after she responded to one comment that said “this video is hilarious. Completely get you are joking but I was still yelling at my screen” with a hair flip and laughing emoji.

A user by the name of @Kennyblack responded with a viral video of his own, with him sitting in front of the Texas flag, wearing a cowboy hat, simply shaking his head while saying “no ma’am.”

And yes, folks, she really does know how to pronounce it. The fun-loving Ash posted a bunch of follow-up videos laughing about the entire commotion, including different videos of her pronouncing the name completely wrong in other ways.

She even tossed a dig at Whataburger — another Texas icon — into the fire.

Buc-ee’s was born and raised in Texas and has dozens of convenience stores across the state, but it also has stores in the South, including Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

And remember, future visitors to The Lone Star State — it’s pronounced “BUCK-EES.”
