On Dec. 20, Alexis Frost, a TikToker who posts restaurant workers' off-menu suggestions, posted a video about a Chipotle hack that would make a quesadilla taste like a Philly cheesesteak. "Definitely a 10," she said. "Steak quesadilla with extra cheese and fajita veggies." The post garnered 149.5 thousand likes and 12.7 thousand shares.

On Dec. 21, another TikToker named Keith Lee stitched Frost's video with a video of his own except he dipped the quesadilla in Chipotle vinaigrette. With the vinaigrette, he gave her hack a 10.

"Fo' sho' you're right on," he said to his followers. His posts got 4 million plays, 581.2 thousand likes, 29 thousand shares and 71.2 thousand saves.

Mayhem ensued when people began demanding the meal and Chipotle employees refused to provide it.

A Jan. 5 article on Today.com described the frustration of the employees, some of whom took to reddit. '“We can’t put fajitas in the quesadilla machine or excess cheese or meat, we just aren’t allowed and it isn’t worth my job,” one employee posted on reddit. "So please don’t be like the guy who swung at me last night and had the cops in store arrest him, and just try not to be mad at us. For a lot of us our jobs are potentially on the line."'

But soon, that will change.

When will Chipotle add 'cheesesteak' quesadillas to the menu?

Chipotle responded to The Arizona Republic's request for comment with the following statement: “We’re amazed by the passion of our fans and their ability to find unique ways to enjoy our hand-crafted quesadillas with Chipotle’s real ingredients. Due to the preparation time required, quesadillas were designed to be digitally exclusive to best support our team members, avoid overcrowding on our front-line, and ensure guests have a seamless experience. Currently, our quesadilla offering does not include fajita veggies with a protein, however, we are looking forward to adding this combination in the future.”

Turns out the future is not far off.

On Jan. 7, both Frost and Lee posted videos, which Chipotle shared to the brand Instagram account, announcing that Chipotle is adding the quesadilla hack to its app.

"I know why you're here," Lee says in the video, blocking Frost from opening the door to the restaurant. "It don't come out until March."

"What doesn't come out until March," asks Frost.

"The Chipotle quesadilla hack with steak, fajita and cheese," he responds.

"We did it?" she asks.

"We did it," he says. "Now let's go get our usual. Come on."

Look for the new quesadilla options on the Chipotle app in March.
