Tiffany Haddish is addressing her recent charges after the comedian was arrested for driving under the influence earlier this month.

Haddish virtually appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Monday and talked about her run-in with the law when Georgia police got a call about a driver asleep at the wheel on a highway. The 42-year-old chalked up the situation to a redirected prayer.

"I can say this Jimmy, I've been praying to God to send me a new man, a good man," said Haddish, who recently went through a public breakup with rapper Common. "And God went ahead and sent me four in a uniform. I wasn't expecting it."

The Grammy-winning comedian was arrested in Peachtree City, Georgia, which is approximately 40 miles outside of Atlanta. After authorities got the call about the sleeping driver, an officer saw a vehicle matching the caller's description and stopped Haddish as she pulled into the yard of a residence, Assistant Police Chief Matt Myers said in a news release at the time. Haddish later posted $1,666 bond and was released from the Fayette County Jail.

"I got a really great lawyer and we're gonna work it out. And I've got to get my asking of things to God a little better," Haddish added.

Fallon thanked Haddish for coming on the show despite having a "tough week," as Haddish noted the death of their mutual friend Bob Saget.

"Bob Saget, who was like a big mentor to me, a big brother, father figure — he meant a lot to me," Haddish said. "He was the first white man to tell me 'just be yourself. Just be who you are, Tiffany.' "

Saget, best known for his role as widowed father Danny Tanner in the ABC family sitcom "Full House" and as the original host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos," was found unresponsive in his Florida hotel room on Jan. 9. His cause of death has not been released.

Haddish recalled meeting Saget when she was 16 years old at a comedy camp and called Saget her first “great teacher."
