Three men were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening at a dangerous intersection in Marion County. It's the second time this month that a multi-vehicle crash has occurred at the junction of Marion Williamsport Road West and Ohio 309.

According to a press release from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash that occurred at the junction of Marion Williamsport Road West and Ohio 309 involved two semis. Troopers report that Saul Lopez-Ramirez, age 34, Monte Alto, Mexico; Luis Alberto Rosales-Delacruz, age 35, San Luis Tecuautitlan, Mexico; and William C. Gilbert, age 51, Marion, were injured in the crash. According to the press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at the time of the crash, Gilbert was driving westbound on Ohio 309 in a 2014 Freightliner Columbia semi-tractor while Lopez-Ramirez was driving a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia semi-tractor southbound on Marion Williamsport Road West approaching the intersection with Ohio 309.

Troopers said Lopez-Ramirez failed to yield at the intersection and struck the right side of the vehicle being operated by Gilbert. Gilbert's semi then traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a light post, a ditch, andcame to final rest in a field.

It marked the second crash this month at the junction of Marion Williamsport Road West and Ohio 309. On Jan. 9, a couple from Hardin County died following a two-vehicle crash at that location.
