Three arrested in Etowah County on child pornography charges

A roundup resulted in the arrest of three men on child pornography charges, Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton said.

Etowah County, Leesburg, Cedar Bluff and Rainbow City investigators involved in the State of Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on Sept. 22 conducted the roundup and served search warrant at three homes on three suspects, which led to the arrests.

Logan Lee Jolley, 25, of Gadsden, is charged with 11 counts of possession of child pornography and dissemination of obscene matter. Horton said several devices were searched during the operation; only Jolley's phone was seized. He was held on $270,000 cash bond.

Christopher Jay Dowdy, 55, of Gadsden, is charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Horton said several devices were taken from his residence, with the possibility of child pornography. Dowdy was held on $200,000 cash bond.

The three suspects have the same bond conditions: no internet, smartphones or contact with anyone under 18 years old, with supervision by Etowah County Community Corrections upon release.

The investigation continues. Horton said there is a possibility of additional charges.
