The Premier League season is back! So every Friday, the Five Pointer will be dedicated to looking ahead to the weekend’s action.

First up is a review of deadline day yesterday. Arsenal were heavily involved, signing David Luiz from Chelsea and Kieran Tierney from Celtic who could both be involved in their opening match against Newcastle on Sunday.

Manchester United let Romelu Lukaku move to Inter Milan but didn’t bring in a striker, and Andy Carroll retuned to Newcastle.

It was a busy transfer window in general, with 1.41 billion pounds spent by Premier League clubs.

The new Premier League season starts tonight, Liverpool welcome newly promoted Norwich City to Anfield in the opening match.

Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp has said that Sadio Mane could feature in the match, despite only just returning for pre-season, after a busy summer with his national team Senegal at the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane has injured ligaments in his right knee during the Community Shield last weekend and will need surgery as a result.

The German is expected to be out of action for quite a while and a potential move to Bayern Munich is now off.

And finally, you have to check out Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos’ attempt to recreate his famous free kick against France from 1997. He misses, but comes so close to scoring an outrageous goal.
