The Darkness rocker Justin Hawkins has told how his shorts melted onto his legs after a freak chemical accident.

The singer had to go to hospital after injuring himself while trying to fix his swimming pool, reported The Sun.

Hawkins was apparently doing something with the pump when “chemicals came out of it” and ended up on his legs.

“There was a problem with the pool, a pump thing and some chemicals came out of it,” he was quoted as saying.

“I think it was a PH negative chemical to control the acidity of the pool.

“I was trying to fix it and I touched my legs and my shorts melted onto my legs, so then I had to go to hospital.”

The star apparently shared his scary story on the Cameo site, but the post is no longer available.
