Texas emerging as the heavy favorite for four-star WR Jonah Wilson

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has given the phrase ‘All Gas, No Brakes’ a whole new meaning this offseason.

The Longhorns are red hot on the recruiting trail for the 2023 class right now. It seems as if a different recruit is either committing or receives a prediction in favor of Texas every day that passes over the last week.

Much of the momentum understandably came shortly after five-star quarterback Arch Manning officially announced his commitment to Texas. As expected, many offensive targets have interest of playing with Manning at the collegiate level.

Along with Johntay Cook and Cedric Baxter Jr., four-star wide receiver Jonah Wilson is also emerging as a heavy Texas favorite. Three 247Sports crystal balls were entered in favor of the Longhorns this week. On3 and Rivals show the Longhorns in the lead as well.

Wilson is rated the No. 34 wide receiver in the country for the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 47 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports composite.

It will be interesting to see how Steve Sarkisian prioritizes wide receivers in the 2023 class as Ryan Niblett has already committed and Johntay Cook is a a must-have prospect, leaving the door open for only one or two others.
