An ice-cold shooting night doomed the Tennessee men's basketball team on Tuesday against Texas Tech at Madison Square Garden.

The Red Raiders defeated the Volunteers 57-52 in overtime.

Tennessee shot 26.8% from the field (19 for 71) and 15% from 3-point range (6 for 39). Before rallying to force overtime, the Vols went more than nine minutes in the second half without scoring. The game was so frustrating to watch that fans at Madison Square Garden — a blend of Tennessee and Texas Tech supporters and early arrivals for the Syracuse vs. Villanova nightcap — booed at the prospects of free basketball.

In overtime, Tennessee went 3 for 11 and 2 for 6 from 3-point territory, allowing the Red Raiders to pull away with the victory. The Vols fell to 6-2 with the loss.

Texas Tech 57, Tennessee 52: Vols falls to Red Raiders in abysmal offensive game at Madison Square Garden

Here's how Tennessee fans reacted on social media to the abysmal offensive performance.

Some were mad that Tennessee had such a terrible night shooting with Vols legend Allan Houston at Madison Square Garden watching his former team in person. Houston is Tennessee's all-time leading scorer and currently works as a special assistant to the general manager for the New York Knicks.

Others jokingly wondered if Houston could suit up for the Vols at age 50.
