Tennessee baseball is trying to win its ninth SEC series this season when it faces Mississippi State.

The No. 1 Vols (46-7, 22-5 SEC) face the Bulldogs (26-27, 9-18) starting Thursday (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network) in Starkville, Mississippi.

UT has won eight conference series. Its lone loss was at Kentucky.

The Vols clinched the outright SEC regular-season title for the first time since 1995 with its series win against Georgia. Tennessee is the No. 1 seed for the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama. UT played in the tournament title game last season when it lost to Arkansas.
