Teladoc: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

PURCHASE, N.Y. (AP) _ Teladoc Inc. (TDOC) on Wednesday reported a loss of $35.9 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Purchase, New York-based company said it had a loss of 43 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 13 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 33 cents per share.

The telehealth services provider posted revenue of $288.8 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $281.5 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, Teladoc expects its results to range from a loss of 36 cents per share to a loss of 33 cents per share.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $294 million to $304 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Teladoc shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $226.94, more than tripling in the last 12 months.
