A teenage girl who went missing after an afternoon run on Sunday has been found safe and well.

Bobbi McCrory, 14, was seen leaving her family's home in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, at about 4.30pm to go for a run but did not return home.

Police confirmed at about midday on Monday that she had been found safe and well and thanked the public for their help.

A spokesperson told Yahoo News: “We are pleased to confirm that 14-year-old Bobbi McCrory, who went missing from her home in Coatbridge on Sunday, November 24, has been found safe and well.

“Thank you to everyone who assisted with our appeal for help in tracing her.”

The girl's disappearance was described as "out of character".

Her mother Lynne posted a photo of her daughter on Facebook with the message: "Everyone plz share this is our daughter worried sick."

Police Scotland said at the time: "It is out of character for Bobbi not to be in contact with family and she did not stipulate that she was planning on staying out overnight. Her family are extremely concerned for her wellbeing."
