TCU basketball returns to AP Top 25

TCU basketball is back in the Top 25.

The Horned Frogs jumped to No. 24 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll after beating Providence 75-62 on Nov. 30.

TCU has won four straight games since the stunning upset to Northwestern State. Now at full strength with Damion Baugh and Emanuel Miller back in the lineup, the Horned Frogs are starting to look like the team many expected.

The first NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings of the 2022-23 season also debuted on Monday. NET replaced RPI prior to the 2018-19 season as one of the many ways to assess a team’s strength and NCAA Tournament resume.

The Horned Frogs debuted at No. 81, which isn’t great, but TCU already has a Quad 1 win over Iowa. The Hawkeyes are No. 20 in the NET rankings.

TCU’s low ranking is likely due to its non-conference schedule. Six of the Horned Frogs’ first seven games were against Quad 3 or 4 teams.

The Horned Frogs return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 6 vs. Jackson State at 7 p.m.
