Taylor Swift thought John Travolta 'Drag Race' flub was 'hilarious'

It doesn't sound like John Travolta will be the subject of any songs on Taylor Swift's next album. The ‘Lover’ singer found the actor's crime of mistaken identity at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards "hilarious."

During Monday's show, Travolta presented the award for Video of the Year, which Swift ultimately won for ‘You Need to Calm Down.’ The Grammy winner invited the cast and crew on stage with her, where the 65-year-old actor proceeded to hand the "Moon Person" to “RuPaul's Drag Race alum,” Jade Jolie, thinking the reality star was Swift.

"He was so confident that it was her," Todrick Hall, who co-executive produced the hit video, rehashed on the Jerry O' show Wednesday. "I loved it, yeah I saw it and we talked about it backstage and then Taylor thought it was hilarious."

Swift obviously sees the resemblance as she cast the Louisville, Kentucky, drag queen alongside her in the "You Need to Calm Down" music video.

"Jade Jolie has made quite the living performing at Play nightclub and she is a fantastic drag queen, but everybody knows that she is the Taylor Swift doppelgänger," Hall continued. "So I think that's the highest compliment [Travolta] could ever pay her. He was very confused."

Jolie found the mixup amusing, too.

Jolie and Swift celebrated the singer’s big night together at Republic Records' VMAs afterparty. The Drag Race alum shared a sweet snap with her friend on Instagram. "Not enough words to brag on this beautiful individual," she wrote. "Cannot thank @taylorswift enough for making us feel like superstars this weekend & treating us all like family!!"

John Travolta should be invited to every awards show for his Adele Dazeem moments.
