Taylor Swift made a statement on the 2019 AMAs red carpet.

The singer, who was named the Artist of the Decade at the awards show, hit the red carpet ahead of the ceremony on Sunday night sparkling in an emerald green asymmetrical dress that harkened back to her "Reputation" era, which was defined by darker themes, snakes and the color green.

Swift channeling her album era that was all about revenge comes amid her latest high-profile celebrity feud with Scooter Braun and Big Machine label head Scott Borchetta, which is over the contentious issue of them controlling the masters from her first six albums.

The very public war of words took a turn last week when the "Lover" singer claimed that Braun and Borchetta were blocking her from performing her old hits during her planned medley of hits in celebration of her Artist of the Decade honor. Both men have since said publicly that Swift is allowed to perform her songs, but all eyes were still on the singer as anticipation built for the world's biggest fan-voted awards show.

Considering the optics around her appearance at the AMAs, it doesn't feel like a coincidence that Swift made a huge departure from her recent string of brightly-colored rainbow ensembles that she wore to earlier awards shows this year around the release of her seventh album, "Lover."

Only time will tell if she plans on making a further statement during her medley performance and subsequent acceptance speech later in the night.
