Tasty Crab House preparing to open on Aiken's Southside at former Fatz Cafe site

Oct. 25—Another restaurant will be "opening soon" at the former site of Fatz Cafe on Aiken's Southside, according to a banner displayed on the building.

The new eatery at 996 Pine Log Road will be the Tasty Crab House.

Based on information posted at tastycrab.com, the other restaurants in the Tasty Crab chain in South Carolina are in Florence and North Charleston.

A Tasty Crab is coming soon to Myrtle Beach and a second one will open soon in Florence.

There are also Tasty Crabs in Georgia, North Carolina, Delaware and New York.

A menu on the website shows that Tasty Crabs serve seafood boils featuring blue crabs, crawfish, king crab legs, snow crab legs, shrimp and other types of seafood.

Also available are a variety of fried seafood baskets and chicken wings.

The following message is posted on the website: "Tasty Crab House is where you'll find the best seafood boil! We put heart and soul into our seafood, and our best-kept secret is our special seasoning recipe that keeps guests coming back for more. ... It's a known fact our Cajun-style, finger lickin' menu items please the masses. Come join us for a wonderful dining experience."

The Aiken Standard sent an email using the "Contact Us" option at tastycrab.com, but didn't receive a reply before the publication deadline for this story.

Fatz Cafe opened in Aiken in early 2016 and closed in early 2020.
