Tall Girl 2 trailer arrives as Netflix release date is confirmed

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Tall Girl 2 – and with it, has also confirmed when the upcoming sequel will land on the streaming platform, too.
Directed by Emily Ting, the follow-up to the 2019 coming-of-age dramedy – which comes out on February 11 – sees Ava Michelle reprise the role of student Jodi Kreyman.
This time around, having struck up a romance with Jack Dunkleman (Griffin Gluck) in the first film, the character is forced to navigate the pair's new relationship, and the pressures of her sudden popularity, after she lands the lead role in her high school's yearly spring musical. There's also the issue of her co-star being impossibly handsome and charming...

"You've finally got your dreams. You think you can actually pull this off?" Jodi's self doubts start whispering to her in the trailer as she tries to fall asleep one evening.
"So, this voice just popped into your head last night?" Jodi's older sister Harper (Sabrina Carpenter) asks the following morning, before the youngster starts to explain: "There's always been a voice, just, this one..."
"... is louder, and makes you believe all your worst fears and insecurities are true?" Harper replies. "You're out there... and the more out there you are, the louder that voice gets.

Luke Eisner (as Stig Mohlin), Anjelika Washington (as Fareeda), Clara Wilsey (Kimmy Stitcher), Rico Paris (Schnipper), Angela Kinsey (Helaine, Jodi and Harper's mother), and Steve Zahn (Richie, their father) round out the returning supporting cast.
Despite Tall Girl failing to impress critics upon its release three years ago, it's hardly surprising that Netflix fully backed another instalment. According to the service, the movie managed to garner over 41 million views on the streaming service within the first month of its release.

Tall Girl 2 is set to be released on Netflix on February 11, 2022.
