Quick Overview

Now that I've moved out of my first apartment with three roommates, I'm looking to update my living situation with higher-quality items. But, like any good late-20something who has lived through three recessions and rent prices rising faster than sea level, I am always on the hunt for more affordable home items that look so much more expensive than they actually are. What can I say? It's our generational talent

While perusing the Nordstrom home section, I stumbled across the perfect set of semi-affordable wine glasses. This fancy set of six wine glasses is classically chic and simple in a way that rivals Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. So, imagine my surprise when I saw that it was less than $100 for the entire set. That breaks down to $16 per glass.

The super dramatically-shaped wine glasses are made of a patented, titanium-based crystal that is break-, chip- and scratch-resistant. So, I'm basically planning on having them forever? And yes, I fully intend to fool my friends and family into thinking I decided to ball out on wine glasses that cost as much as my rent.

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about wine — except for the fact that my $6 wine of choice post-college was objectively bad. But a moderately priced wine from a domestic vineyard versus an imported bottle that costs over $100? I would never know the difference. Sorry to all of the sommeliers out there.

What I do vaguely know is that the shape and style of a wine glass can make a certain difference when it comes to taste. What is the difference? I also can't tell you, but according to Nordstrom, this set of expensive-looking wine glasses is good. The voluptuous shape of each glass is crafted to enhance the depth of your wine's bouquet. Do with that what you will!

As I said, I'm investing in this set of six wine glasses, which is $16 per glass, because it's in my price range and looks way fancier than anything currently in my kitchen cabinet. Also, the glass is basically the closest thing to bullet-proof wine glasses I'll ever own. Talk about a level up from my first apartment.
