A sweet new Charlotte shop features yeast-raised, handmade doughnuts — and it opens soon
Monday, Oct. 18, 6:30 a.m.: Mark your calendar, doughnuts and coffee fans.
This will mark the opening of the highly anticipated expansion of OMG Donuts & Coffee, which features California-style yeast doughnuts and apple fritters. Its original location is in Concord, and its new Southeast Charlotte bakery is in MoRA at Meridian Place, right next to Edge City Brewery.
Coffee drinks will include both Pure Intentions coffee and espresso drinks and Cafe du Monde, the New Orleans-famous chicory coffee.
“Coffee and doughnuts is a pair — it goes together. It’s a staple in our culture,” co-owner Mia Chang told CharlotteFive in April.
Show up hungry, as these doughnuts are bigger than what you’re used to: 3.5” to 4” across.
A popular Concord doughnut shop is headed to Charlotte’s MoRA neighborhood
OMG’s new customers, some of them in walking distance, responded with OMG-level excitement when the MoRA neighborhood association shared the news.
“When we searched for a location, we knew that MoRA would be a perfect home,” OMG stated recently.
