Susan Sarandon cooly responds to political troll asking if she was woken 'out of her cryogenic chamber' amid Elizabeth Warren flap

Susan Sarandon’s commitment to Bernie Sanders is so strong that she’ll clap back at a troll’s personal attack on her with some policy.

Sarandon has long been catching heat for her Sanders support — and, while campaigning for him in Iowa on Monday, took a swipe at one of his rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, Elizabeth Warren. Without naming the Massachusetts senator, the Thelma & Louise star said, “[Sanders] is not someone who used to be Republican. He is not someone who used to take money, or still takes money, from Wall Street. He is the real deal.” The implication was that Warren, who was a registered Republican in the mid-‘90s, is not.

Many Warren fans and Sarandon haters didn’t like that, leading one person — political strategist Adam Parkhomenko, a Hillary Clinton mega-supporter and adviser — to post on Twitter, “F**k Susan Sarandon. Seriously. Do they wake her out of her cryogenic chamber whenever a woman starts doing well in the polls?”

While Sarandon, 72, wasn’t even tagged in the tweet, it caught her attention and she had a pretty perfect response. Without directly addressing the remark about her age, she replied that what she’s “not sure about cryotherapy,” Sanders’s “Medicare for All” bill would cover various other things.

She was applauded in the comments for her cool reply. Parkhomenko was called out by commenters for what many saw was a “misogynistic” remark.

But, not everyone agrees on Twitter — especially where Sarandon is involved, as many blame her for Clinton’s loss to Trump in 2016. So she faced criticism as well.

Sarandon and her son Jack Henry Robbins were at a Sanders campaign event at the Field of Dreams site on Monday. She posted a photo calling them both “my guys.” It was one of several stops Sarandon made with Sanders in Iowa that day.
