Strong Winds in Louisiana Cause Ship's Mooring Line to Snap

Winds reaching 70 mph hit southern Louisiana on April 13 as a severe thunderstorm passed through the region.

Footage filmed by ship’s captain Daniel Fox in Port Fourchon shows his vessel being battered by waves after one of its mooring lines snapped.

Fox told Storyful, “Our midship line broke and we only had the stern line left. We spooled up our bow thruster and main engines to hold us stable at that time.” Credit: Daniel Fox via Storyful
