Catherine Tyldesley has revealed that she gets given secret instructions when she’s on the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor.

The former Coronation Street actress who performed her first routine with professional dance partner Johannes Radebe on Saturday 21 September, revealed that the professionals give directions to the celebrities to make sure they don’t make a mistake.

Despite wearing mics, the instructions aren’t picked up because the pros whisper the instructions to their partners.

"I have no problem remembering pages of scripts, but my brain goes to jelly when it comes to dance steps.”

"Although I've already discovered the secret to as why more contestants don't muck up,” she added.

The pros are brilliant at hissing, 'Jump, turn, smile...' when you're in the routine. The group dance was hilarious [in the previous show]. That was all you could hear."

Meanwhile, Tyldesley has already become a favourite to win the show after the judges praised her and Radebe on their Viennese Waltz.

Despite impressing the judges with her routine, the actress recently admitted that she almost vomited on Radebe during rehearsals due to the number of spins she had to do.

"It's all going to be okay... I wasn't sick. I didn't vomit on you yet... I retched,” she said in a video with her pro dance partner.

Confirming her version of events, Radebe added: “It's fine, it's okay."
