Stormzy wears slippers for TV interview after forgetting his shoes

Stormzy has appeared on live TV wearing his slippers - admitting he had forgotten to bring any shoes.

The 26-year-old rapper revealed he likes to stay in his comfy slippers when he is busy travelling around the country to signings and he had forgotten his traininers.

Stormzy told BBC Breakfast: “I forgot! I actually forgot, I’m an idiot, I forgot.

“It sounds mad now - we’ve been doing signings, I did a signing in Bristol, I’ve got a signing tonight and I always just stay in my slippers. And then I got in the car and I was like, ah! I haven’t got my trainers. Sorry.”

The Big For Your Boots rapper was also asked about the line in his new track Disappointed in which he says: “I can’t tweet, I’m too reckless/I’m too BBC Breakfast.”

Stormzy said:“I’ve become a mainstream act as well as being an MC and a rapper, and sometimes even like being here and being a kind of popular face can sometimes be weaponised against me.

“And I said no I’ll embrace that, I’m BBC Breakfast, I’ll take that all day.”

The grime star has recently become embroiled in a public feud with rival act Wiley.

Wiley has criticised Stormzy on social media for his collaborations with Ed Sheeran, and claimed the only reason Jay-Z wanted to work with him was because of Sheeran.

On his diss track Eediyat Skengman Wiley raps: “You never cared about grime, you just used it / Worse than Ed with your watered down music.”
