Week 1 Stark County high school football scoreboard, box scores — see who won Friday night

The 2022 high school football regular season kicks off in Ohio this week. Locally, four Stark County teams were in action Thursday night.

After a tough season a year ago, Perry got 'back to playing Perry football' in rolling to a 51-28 win over Central Catholic. Also Thursday, Fairless proved to be too much for Sandy Valley in a 31-0.

The rest of the area teams kicked off their seasons Friday.

Highlights include Mentor topping McKinley 34-21, big plays helping Moeller defeat Massillon 49-31, Lake's new two-QB attack leading to a 41-18 win at Alliance, Mason Ashby helping Hoover defeat Buchtel 35-21 and Jackson defeating Akron East 33-27 in Jay Rohr's debut as Polar Bears head coach.
