The Standard 10: Cameron Davis

Aug. 14—What he's done

Davis followed up a breakout sophomore season with an even better junior campaign in which he rushed for 1,596 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Over his last two seasons as a starter he's run for a total of 2,462 yards and 31 scores, and he's also shown his versatility by lining up as the War Eagles' quarterback.

Why he's here

He's here because he's one of the area's most prolific rushers who spent the offseason putting in plenty of work to get better as a passer. He improved his throwing mechanics, and Wagener-Salley participated in more 7 on 7s than in previous years to help his development.

Now he's going to continue to work on the chemistry he's built with his wide receivers, who now have a year of experience under their belts, while also teaming with Ian Stroman in the backfield for a 1-2 rushing punch behind an experienced offensive line.

What to expect

Expect more out of Davis, because that's what the War Eagles expect of him. The offense will be much more of a spread-based set, which should open up space for him to go to work.

Also expect him to show how hard he's worked in the offseason to get better as a passer, which will only make things easier for him as a runner.
