Fans of Alexa PenaVega are coming to her defense after she joked about her "great parenting" skills in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Alexa, known for her role as Carmen Cortez in the Spy Kids film series, showed that parenting her two boys, who are both under the age of three, isn't always perfectly crafted for social media. Sometimes, you just have to let one of your kids play with a tape measure.

The photo the actress shared on Facebook and Instagram is a pretty adorable selfie of Alexa holding her youngest, Kingston. In the background, her oldest, Ocean, can be seen playing with a retractable ruler.

"Great parenting right here," the former Dancing with the Stars contestant wrote. "Taking selfies with one kid while the other plays with a measuring tape."

Other parents couldn't help but relate to the scene.

"Story of my life," one parent posted. Another suggested that Ocean was a "contractor in the making."

"So cute! My son LOVES playing with a measuring tape," a mother shared. "I gave him one for car rides but had to take it away when he started poking me in the head with it while I was driving."

"You have a darling family," another fan wrote. "I love when children play with items that you have around the house rather than toys that you have to buy."

Alexa documents plenty of parenting moments on her YouTube page, which she shares with her husband, Carlos PenaVega, of Big Time Rush fame.

Now, the power couple can use some of those "chaotic" moments for inspiration for their Nickelodeon animated family series, The Casagrandes, which premiered on Monday.

"With the show specifically, it is so chaotic and fun and crazy and being a parent now, that's our life every day," Alexa told E! News about the new show. "It's fun, chaotic and crazy. What I love about the show is that the characters can all be fighting, they can all be annoyed with each other, but at the end of the day and at the end of every episode, they all come together because they love each other and are family."
