Men’s hockey: RSA, Zoeller pull off upsets
ROCHESTER – Ryan Ellis tallied three points as RSA Realty upset Homecare of New England, 3-1, in Monday’s Rochester Men’s Hockey League action. Zoeller Realty Group was also an upset winner, knocking off DeNiro Development, 8-6.
Ellis had two goals and an assist for last-place RSA (4-11-2), who led 2-0 after two periods. Ryan Montecalvo added a goal and an assist. Steve Stripto made 31 saves in goal.
Kyle Carignan scored the lone goal for Homecare (8-5-4). Nick Paxton stopped 27 shots.
Zoeller (5-11-1) came from behind in the third period to stun DeNiro, netting the final four goals of the game after being down 6-4. Kevin Merrill had three goals and an assist, while Mike Nasso added two goals and two helpers. Mark Zoeller had two goals and Doug Colwell lit the lamp once. Lennie Foss stopped 33 shots.
For DeNiro (10-5-2), Kody Grondin (2-1) and Tom Gillum (1-2) had three points apiece. Chris Atwood chipped in with two goals, Bob Gray had three assists and Josh Anderson scored a goal. Mike Sullivan made 22 saves.
Leavitt Electric added to its league lead with a 6-3 win over Franman Transportation. Dave Robicheau and Josh Terry led the way for Leavitt (12-1-4) with a goal and two assists each. Chris Hitchcock scored twice. Matt Surina added a single tally. Tyler Briand made 22 saves.
Kutch Jacob, Mike Filiault and Nate DeWolf each scored a goal for Franman (5-11-1). Zane Angelopoulos was busy in goal with 50 saves.
Leavitt can secure first place with a win or tie next week or a loss and a tie by DeNiro.

EXETER - Registrations for the upcoming Exeter Youth Lacrosse Association season is underway at www.exeteryouthlacrosse.org.
The league is for boys and girls between kindergarten and eighth grade in the Exeter-area school systems.
