Sport shorts: Athlete of the Week honors announced

Jan. 20—Hannah Sjostrom, a junior on the JHS girls wrestling team was the 190 pound champion at the Bismarck Rotary Invitational. Sjostrom is currently ranked No. 5 in the state in her weight class. Currently, she holds a season record of 11-2.

Brode Hillstrom, the netminder for the JHS boys hockey team, stopped a total of 79 out of 83 shots on goal for a 95.1% save percentage in the last three games. The Jays collected wins over Dickinson, Mandan and Minot this last week.

Ryan Larson, a sophomore for the JHS boys basketball team scored 20 points and had 14 rebounds, two steals and a block in the Jays' 85 — 42 victory over Watford City on Jan. 15.

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department announced the lineup for Cabin Fever Days 2022 on Jan. 18. All questions can be referred to John Ruff at the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department.

Feb. 6: Pickleball tournament at Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC). Registrations should be turned in at TRAC. Any questions should be referred to 952-8722.

Feb. 12: Pinochle Tournament at 10 a.m. at the Hillcrest Pro Shop. The cost is $10 per person. Snacks will be provided. Registrants can register at the Parks & Recreation. The tournament is limited to 36 players signed up and paid.

Feb. 12: There will be free wagon rides at the Bunker, 1-4 p.m.
