BOLIVAR — Zoar View Investments, owned by Kyle and Samantha Quillen, will host the Sparks of Giving celebration July 16 along the state Route 212 corridor from Bolivar to Zoarville.

This inaugural event is intended to serve as an economic festival, drawing people from across the region to shop, eat, and enjoy a fireworks display after the sun sets. Organizers plan to repeat the event annually.

Dozens of community businesses and organizations are working in coordination with Zoar View to organize and promote the celebration. Participating restaurants and businesses will donate a portion of their sales on July 16 to a local charity in order to infuse dollars back into the community where they’re needed most.

“This started with the intention of simply hosting the most fantastic fireworks display in all of Ohio, but we quickly recognized an opportunity to draw people from all across the region and help our community at the same time,” Zoar View Investments President Kyle Quillen said. “The fireworks will draw attention, and with the right cooperation from community organizations and local businesses, we can not only provide an incredible day of celebration for local residents but attract families from other communities eat, shop and enjoy Bolivar.”

Area businesses are encouraged to donate a portion of July 16 sales to a local charity of their choice, providing additional support to organizations like the food bank and humane society.  Businesses and organizations who have pledged their participation early include the Mash Factory, Massarelli Baseball, Lockport Brewery, Canal Street Diner, Canal Tavern, Sublime Smoke, Bolivar Mainstreet Association, Tuscarawas Valley Athletic Department, Zoar Golf Club and Wilkshire Golf Course.

The evening fireworks display will be set off near Zoar Golf Club with primary viewing areas designated at Zoar Volunteer Fire Department, Tuscarawas Valley High School, Holy Trinity of Zoar and Zoar Golf Club.  The fireworks can also be viewed from the Mash Factory, Wilkshire Golf Course, Lockport Brewery, Vaughn’s Pub and the Giant Eagle parking lot.

Organizers plan to shoot fireworks later in May to test viewing areas.
