Here's a look at the scores and highlights from Monday's high school action on the SouthCoast.

BASEBALL

Bishop Stang 2, St. Mary’s 1

Cam Letourneau hit a triple to deep right center gap in the bottom of the first inning to start the game and then scored on Seamus Marshall’s sacrifice fly to center field to give Bishop Stang a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, Alex DiGiammo singled and then Justin Gouveia tripled to deep left field to make it 2-0. After giving up a run in the top of the fourth, Aiden Cardoza settled back in and dominated the rest of the game to earn the 2-1 victory against Aiven Cabral, Northeastern commit and one of the top pitchers in the state. Cardoza allowed one run off three hits with no walks and six strikeouts over seven innings to improve to 3-1 with three saves on the season and an ERA of 2.03. Gouveia (1-for-3 with a triple and RBI), Letourneau (1-for-3 with a triple and run scored), DiGiammo (1-for-2 with a run scored), Brayden Bennett (1-for-2) and Marshall (0-for-2 with an RBI) contributed on offense. The Spartans (11-3, 9-2 CCL) visit Austin Prep at 4 p.m. on Wednesday for the Championship of Central Catholic League.

Old Colony 8, Tri-County 6

Kyle St. Jean went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a double in the bottom of the sixth inning that drove in the winning two RBIs as the Cougars qualified for the playoffs. Collin Tetrault (2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored), Mason Santos (1-for-3 with a run scored), Chase LaFountain (1-for-3 with a run scored), Trevor Taveira (1-for-1 with two walks, two runs scored and an RBI), Jaryd DosAnjos (1-for-3) and Aven Beauchemin (1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored) also contributed. Tetrault got the win on the mound as he allowed one earned run off one hit and three walks while striking out two over three innings. Old Colony (9-6, 7-1 MAC) hosts Bristol-Aggie at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Pope Park.

Fairhaven 5, Bourne 2

Colby Correia delivered for Fairhaven as he allowed one hit — a double in the bottom of the seventh inning — while striking out eight, walking five and allowing two runs (no earned). He also went 4-for-4 at the plate with an RBI as the Blue Devils kept their conference title hopes alive. Tim Lawrence pinch-hit a single in the seventh and Aidan Hassey went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. Nate Grace was 1-for-3 with a hit batsman, RBI and run scored while Isaiah Lopez was 2-for-3 with a run scored. The Blue Devils (9-6, 5-5 SCC) host Seekonk at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at Pope Park.

Somerset Berkley 3, Apponequet 2

Both teams had to make big defensive plays to get out of tough situations, leaving multiple runners on base several times throughout the game. Tanner Audyatis not only had two hits, he also scattered eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts over six innings. Justyn Machie had two hits, including a double, and an RBI while Liam MacPhail had two hits. Ian Nickerson had one hit. Connor Johnson pitched one scoreless inning. The Lakers (10-6, 5-5 SCC) visit East Bridgewater on Wednesday.

Bridgewater-Raynham 6, Dartmouth 2

Matt Lariviere took the loss for Dartmouth as he allowed six runs (three earned) on seven hits while striking out three over 5 ⅔ innings. Donovan Burgo, Jacob Moniz, and Ryan Coppola all managed multiple hits. “They were just a little bit better than us in all aspects of the game today,” said Dartmouth head coach Mike Frates. “Pitching, defense and situational hitting. We'll have a good practice tomorrow and look to bounce back on Wednesday.” Dartmouth (10-5, 5-1 SEC) visits Somerset Berkley on Wednesday.

Old Rochester 12, GNB Voc-Tech 7

Zack Matson had a big day, driving in three runs and also picking up the win on the mound as he allowed just two earned runs off seven hits with two walks and one strikeout over four innings. Lucas McElroy pitched three innings of relief, allowing two runs with one strikeout and no walks. “Matson pitched well again and out of jam in first and around some defensive miscues,” said Old Rochester head coach Steve Carvalho. Alec Marsden went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored while Owen Bates was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Ethan McElroy scored two runs and had a single while Lucas McElroy had a single and an RBI. Damon Smead (single, two runs scored) and Brady Dias (two runs scored and RBI) also contributed. Adam Araujo led Voc-Tech with three hits while Evan Mello and Cam Cabral each had two. The Bulldogs (9-7, 6-4 SCC) visit Somerset Berkley on Friday.

Durfee 12, New Bedford 4

The Whalers suffered their sixth consecutive loss despite a strong performance at the plate from Ranen Goodine, who went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Matt DeRosa went 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and played great defense at third base. Aaron Pimental had a double and scored New Bedford’s other run. He also pitched four innings of relief and was pretty effective. The Whalers (4-11, 2-4 SEC) host Brockton on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

SOFTBALL

Fairhaven 14, Bourne 1, 6 innings

In command on the mound, Gabriela Rocha-Medeiros struck out 11, walked one and allowed one run off five hits over six innings. She also was strong at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Ava Pepin went 3-for-4 with an RBI triple while Cait Andre was 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Holly Perdigao was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Olivia Couto had a home run and three RBIs while Katherine Tortella had a double and two RBIs. The Blue Devils (10-6, 6-3 SCC) visit Old Rochester on Wednesday.

GNB Voc-Tech 14, Old Rochester 0

Madison Medeiros struck out 16 batters for Voc-Tech (18-0, 10-0 SCC) and gave up just three hits and one walk to improve to 17-0 on the season. Hailey Soares and Hayleigh Silva were each 4-for-5 while Kylee Caetano and Ana Tsonis were both 3-for-4. Medeiros and Dakota Dudley were each 2-for-4 at the plate.

Arlington Catholic 9, Bishop Stang 8

Emma Gomes was 2-for-4 with four RBIs while Cianna Sylvia went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Sydney Alboum went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. The Spartans (3-12, 2-7 CCL) host Bishop Fenwick on Wednesday.

Bridgewater-Raynham 9, Dartmouth 1

Megan Arruda took the loss as she surrendered nine runs on seven hits over six innings while striking out three. Aubrey Carberry went 1-for-3 for Dartmouth’s lone hit. Dartmouth (7-7, 3-2 SEC) hosts Somerset Berkley on Wednesday.

Dighton-Rehoboth 28, Wareham 2

For Wareham (5-10, 1-10 SCC), Laura Pinkston went 2-for-3 with two triples and an RBI while Marina Cadena was 1-for-1 with a home run and RBI. Ari Judge and Carly Delgado both went 1-for-2 while Carly Glover scored a run.

Tri-County 3, Old Colony 2

Abby Orzechowski struck out 13, walked on and allowed three earned runs on three hits over seven innings. Lindsey Bacchiocchi went 2-for-3 with an RBI, two stolen bases and a run scored. The Cougars (4-10, 2-6 MAC) visit Bristol-Aggie on Wednesday.

Somerset Berkley 10, Apponequet 4

Lauren Bernaiche closed the game, pitching three strong innings, only allowing two runs. She also helped the Lakers at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a single and hitting a sac fly to drive in a run. Christina Magnett went 1-for-4 with a single in addition to playing strong defense at shortstop. Anne Streeto went 1-for-3 with a double late in the game and scored. The Lakers (8-8, 5-6 SCC) visit Dighton-Rehoboth on Friday.

BOYS LACROSSE

Old Colony 18, Bristol-Plymouth 1

Will Harrop notched a team-high 10 goals to power the Cougars to their 12th straight win. Luke Meelia added three and Mason Balancer and Jack Butler each chipped in with two. Stu Burnham had five assists while Max Finney picked up nine ground balls. Ray Thibault won 100% of the faceoffs. The Cougars (14-1, 13-1 MAC) visit South Shore on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

GNB Voc-Tech 8, Blue Hills 7

Michael Melo had a phenomenal game in his first game in net with 15 saves. Kaiden Pequita led the offense with three goals while Brayden Webster had two goals. Austin Nunes, Nathan Pearson and Kyle Langlois each scored once. The Bears (3-10, 1-8 SCC) visit Dighton-Rehoboth on Wednesday.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Old Colony 9, Bristol-Plymouth 4

The Cougars have won three of their last four games. Kathleen Simoes made 11 saves against B-P while Abby Pitts had seven goals. Emma Canastra added two goals and one assist. Old Colony (5-9, 2-3 MAC) hosts South Shore on Wednesday.

St. Mary’s 12, Bishop Stang 11

Leah Katz scored five goals while Sydney Plouffe added three. Sierra DaRosa, Hannah LaFrance and Sofie Doucet had one apiece. Teal Galligan had one assist while Maddie Kippe made 13 saves. The Spartans (1-13-1, 1-9-1 CCL) face Bishop Fenwick on Saturday at 1 p.m.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

New Bedford 3, Barnstable 1

Kishan Patel had 14 kills and 10 service points in addition to going 15 of 16 in serve receive. Carter Barbosa had 39 assists while Ryan Dosenberg had 16 kills. The Whalers (9-7, 2-1 SEC) visit Framingham on Wednesday.

GNB Voc-Tech 3, Durfee 0

Curran Farnworth led the Bears with 16 kills while Ethan Fagundes had six kills, 17 digs and four aces to help the Bears (12-2, 6-1) bounce back from their loss to New Bedford on Friday. Alberto Gomes had 23 assists and seven digs while Colin Stuessi added 12 digs.

GIRLS TENNIS

Fairhaven 5, New Bedford 0

The Blue Devils (13-2, 7-2 SCC) swept singles action with wins from No. 1 Kaydin Pinto over Emma Gibney (6-0, 6-3), No. 2 Elizabeth DaCunha over Sofia Beltran (6-0, 6-2) and No. 3 Sabrina Zheng over Maria Oliveira (6-0, 6-0). Fairhaven’s first doubles team of Abbey Lopes and Olivia Darmofal defeated Jalysa Noriega and Cassie Martin 6-0, 6-0 while Min Wu and Eliana Cabral were 6-1, 6-0 winners over Daniella Costa and Megha Patel at No. 2. The Whalers (1-12, 0-6 SEC) host Brockton on Wednesday.

Wareham 3, Bourne 2

No. 1 Brooklyn Bindas and No. 2 Saige Galhardo both won 6-0, 6-0 while the first doubles team of Mackenzie Brodley and Olivia Powers 6-0, 6-1. Bindas and Brodley/Powers remain undefeated on the season. The Vikings (18-0, 13-0 SCC) visit New Bedford on Thursday.

Bridgewater-Raynham 4, Dartmouth 1

Dartmouth’s lone win came at second singles from Sophia Waite (6-2, 6-4).

BOYS TENNIS

Dartmouth 3, Apponequet 2

Dartmouth (12-1) got wins from No. 1 Justin Kerney over Nate Belmore (6-1, 6-1), No. 2 Dylan Marshall over Colin Belmore (2-6, 6-2, 6-3) and the second doubles team of Nathaniel Kumlin and Judson Cardinali over Shreyas Rathod and Owen Nielson (6-0 6-0). For Apponquet (13-2, 10-0 SCC), Will Horton beat Luke Bloom-Glover 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 while the first doubles team of Jason Demers and Ethan Clark were 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) winners over Charlie Camisa and Kevin Leona.

Bourne 5, Wareham 0

The Vikings (2-16, 0-11 SCC) host New Bedford on Thursday.
