SouthCoast high school scores and highlights from Wednesday, Feb. 8

Here's a look at the scores and highlights from Wednesday's high school action on the SouthCoast.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Wareham 83, Nantucket 59

Playing on back-to-back days, the Vikings captured their 11th straight win with contributions across the board. “I thought our bench was great tonight and last night they really came and gave us a shot in the arm playing with great energy,” said Wareham head coach Steve Faniel. “Such a luxury to have them guys come in and do what they are doing for us.” Off the bench, Jakwon Pittmen had 11 points while Jayce Travers added nine. Diego Mello led the offense with 23 points while Antoine Crosson had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jaron Pittmen chipped in with 11 points while Ajay Lopes had eight assists and four points. “The ball movement was good,” Faniel said. “I thought we did a great job getting in transition. We got great looks at the basket all night.” Wareham (14-1, 12-0 SCC) hosts GNB Voc-Tech on Friday.

Old Colony 58, Bristol-Aggie 15

The Cougars rode their defense to victory. The offense was led by Ryan Scott, who had 13 points. Max Finney added 12. Old Colony (13-4, 7-0 MAC) travels to Cape Cod Tech on Friday.

Bourne 66, GNB Voc-Tech 61

Cam Morin was strong all-around with 25 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals, but it wasn’t enough as the Bears suffered their second straight loss. Curran Farnworth added 10 points and five assists while Jhaden Reis had 10 points and Serrone Ramos chipped in with eight. Voc-Tech (7-11, 4-7 SCC) visits Wareham on Friday.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Archbishop Williams 7, Bishop Stang 1

Kacey Curran had Stang’s lone goal off assists from Alexandria Yost and Lily-Mae Melo. The Spartans (10-3-2, 3-3-2) host Franklin at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday.
