South Central's Music, Beverly break more records

May 21—NORTH ROBINSON — The South Central senior sprinting duo of Carson Music and Trey Beverly took down another meet record on Friday.

Competing at the Division III Colonel Crawford district championships, Music and Beverly again finished 1-2 in the 400 dash in 49.63 and 49.67 seconds. Both times set new meet records in the event, breaking the old mark set in 2008 by St. Mary Central Catholic's Dylan Keller (50.23).

The two standouts then teamed with Parker Gray and Isaac Blair to win the 4x200 relay in 1:33.71; and the 4x400 in 3:32.92. Beverly also placed third in the 200 (24.47) to advance to next week's regional meet in Chillicothe.

Other area boys to advance on Friday included New London's Braeden Geist, who won the 3200 in 10:43.42. Teammate Jalen Randelman was fourth in 10:58.23. Tyler Twining was second for the Wildcats in the 800 run (2:01.41).

Plymouth's Caiden Allen won the 100 dash in 11.53 seconds.

Advancing for the South Central girls included Onalee Keysor in the pole vault, who cleared 10 feet to place second. Angela Williams was third in the long jump (17-feet-3.75) and fourth in the 200 (27.94), while Claire Osborn was third in the shot put (38-feet-5).

Also for the S.C. girls, Grace Lamoreaux was fourth in both the 100 hurdles (16.93) and 300 hurdles (49.77). The 4x200 relay of Keysor, Lamoreaux, Kendyl Beverly and Williams placed fourth in 1:54.63.

For New London, Kaitlyn Gum won the shot put (40-feet-4) and Reese Landis won the 3200 in 11:34.4. Alyssa Henry was third in the 800 (2:29.96).

In the team standings, South Central was fourth (57) and New London was eighth (36) in the boys meet. The Trojan girls were sixth (53) and the Wildcats were seventh (49).

The top four placers from Friday's district meet on the girls side will compete at the Port Clinton regional next week.
