Sony: More PlayStation 5 consoles will reach retailers by the end of the year
Consumers and video game fans waiting to scoop up a PlayStation 5 will likely get more opportunities by the end of this year.
In a tweet published Wednesday through its official PlayStation account, Sony said it will make more of its popular video game console available at retailers by the end of 2020.
"Demand for PS5 is unprecedented," said Sony in its statement. "So we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year."
Sony claims the launch of the PS5, first available on Nov. 12, was the company's biggest console launch ever.

Both the PS5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series X and S, which launched Nov. 10, have been hot items this holiday. The consoles have consistently sold out as soon as more become available.
On Friday, Walmart will have both PS5 and Xbox consoles available to purchase online only as part of Black Friday.
We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year - please stay in touch with your local retailers.
