Sod Poodles win third straight with 5-3 comeback victory on Saturday

What this game means: Amarillo improves to 51-56 overall and notch their third straight win of the week over the Cardinals. For the second night in a row, the Sod Poodles came from behind for the win and outscored Springfield 4-0 through the game's final four innings.

Friday's highlights: Amarillo first baseman Tristin English hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first to tie the game 1-1. The Soddies were trailing 3-1 in the sixth when designated hitter Leandro Cedeno knocked his 24th home run of the season for a solo shot over the centerfield wall. In the seventh, second baseman Drew Stankiewicz recorded his 13th home run of the year on a solo shot of his own. The game's winning runs were scored when shortstop Blaze Alexander hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth.

Friday's stars: Cedeno (2-4, 1 RBI, 1 R) and Stankiewicz (2-2, 1 RBI, 1 R) were the lone Sod Poodles batters to record multiple hits on Saturday night and each homered. On the mound, Brent Teller (3-0) improved his undefeated season record after allowing one hit and two walks with four strikeouts in three innings of work. Mack Lemieux earned his first save of the season with a one-hit ninth.
