Mesmerising photo contest showcases world's best water-themed images

A striking aerial photograph of a swimming pool among wave-splashed rocks has won the #Water2019 photography contest.

British airline pilot Lee Mumford's image was voted for by users of the Agora photo app, a global photography social network which connects professional photographers.

Photographers can share their images on the huge database.

He beat almost 17,000 entries from around the globe of photographers from all over the world.

Of the thousands of entries, 49 finalists with incredible snaps were chosen in August and users could vote for their favourite snap.

The mesmerising images consist of a vivid shot of an ice tunnel in Norway, a double rainbow, an incredibly detailed shot of a frog on a stem in the rain and Indonesia’s largest waterfall.
