In the pre-dawn hours, retrograde Mercury in Aquarius sextiles Chiron in Aries, an aspect Mercury made in direct motion on January 9. During its first pass, we were made aware of a wound, insecurity, or anxiety in need of reconciliation. However, we may have been uncharacteristically dismissive about it. The sextile is an easy-going and harmonious influence, and living with the wound in question seemed like a no-fuss alternative to examining why its appearance throws off our mental equilibrium. At this time, we approach this issue in a more inquisitive way. We might even take the plunge and sign up for therapy to pinpoint the source of the issue and heal it. At 7:27 a.m.: Uranus goes direct in Taurus
After sun-up, Uranus stations direct in Taurus, having been in retrograde motion since August 19. Most of us will not experience large energetic shifts on this day, or if we do, they are a byproduct of energies building up over time as Uranus has slowed to station. Uranus is the planet of sudden insights, shifts in consciousness, and revolutionary thinking. In Taurus, it has been reshaping how we interact with commerce, the environment and the planet as a whole, bringing change in the form of ecological upsets or fluctuations in how we use currency and garner resources. Uranus retrograde had the effect of softening these manifest events, encouraging us to consider how we use our wealth, take up physical space, or how our actions in the face of uncertainty contribute to or reduce global strife. Yet, now that Uranus is direct, we will once again be challenged by forces “outside” our sphere of influence. Remember, we cannot control these factors, but we can control our response to crises. This transit will have a greater impact for those with natal planets in the fixed signs of the zodiac: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius.
