At 3:55 a.m.: The moon enters Scorpio, and the moon void of course ends

Before dawn, the moon enters Scorpio, exiting its void which began last night. Over the next two days, we are inclined to look beneath the surface of things. Emotions run deep, and a desire to interrogate complexity can find us drawn to extreme situations or occult topics we would otherwise consider macabre. This moon can be a powerful time to commune with our shadow, but there is no need to force ourselves into darkness simply to feel. In all likelihood, increased sensitivity to our environments will ramp up the intensity regardless of whether we go probing in the depths.

At 5:22 a.m.: Neptune goes direct in Pisces

In the morning, Neptune stations direct in Pisces after nearly six months retrograde. Neptune retrograde served to diffuse the rose-colored optics of unwarranted idealism. Subsequently, a lack of optimism or creative inspiration may have been experienced in the territory which it transited in our natal charts. However, we were also less vulnerable to being taken advantage of by actors who saw our blind faith as something to be exploited. Neptune direct presents an interesting catch-22. Our inspiration is returned, causing us to be more optimistic about our circumstances. However, we also lose the discernment that kept our expectations practical. If we remember to be mindful of what we have witnessed over the past half a year, while allowing ourselves to return to deeper communion with our artistic and spiritual aspirations, we can avoid the pitfalls that come with ceding common sense to wishful thinking.
