Sixers star Tobias Harris reveals he had a bone bruise, feeling better

The Philadelphia 76ers had been missing the scoring and the versatility of Tobias Harris over their previous three games as their star forward had to miss three games in a row to right knee soreness. He returned on Thursday with 18 points and six assists in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Harris got off to a slow start shooting just 2-for-7 and scoring four points, but he was able to get into a groove in the second half scoring 14 points and he was able to make a bigger impact.

Afterward, Harris revealed the injury he had was actually a bone bruise and he just needed rest and recovery.

“Not too bad to be honest,” Harris stated. “I had a bone bruise so for me, it was just allowing that time to heal and to be able to wake up and be pain-free and to be able to do those types of movements on the floor. So a lot of that was just rest and recovery for myself.”

Harris is so important to this team’s chances going forward and they need him to be at his absolute best. He is the one who will lead the way down the stretch of games when the team needs it the most. Obviously, he did not have that chance on Thursday to close a game out, but he just needs to find his rhythm again.

“It’s just about finding that balance and that rhythm but it was a good game for mentally, my confidence to be able to know that I was able to play and not feel anything and to not feel any pain in that area,” he finished. “To be able to have that confidence going forward. In that time, I just tried to keep myself right, keep myself in the best of shape and in the best of health mentally wise so it wasn’t too bad.”

The Sixers face the Bucks again on Saturday to finish up their season series with Milwaukee.
