Sixers star James Harden back in the gym putting in offseason work

The last time anybody saw James Harden, he was having a tough game against the Miami Heat in Game 6 of Eastern Conference semifinals, in which he took two shots after halftime in the loss. The Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated and questions arose whether the Sixers should keep Harden.

However, Harden should be given some slack. He had been dealing with a hamstring injury suffering while with the Brooklyn Nets. He opened up on how tough the season was for him as he looks to move forward healthy once more.

Chuck Ellis, a basketball trainer and a coach, had an Instagram story of him and Harden after putting in work, and The Beard looks a little slimmer.

The Philadelphia fan base has seen offseason workouts before — see Simmons, Ben — but Harden being able to have a full summer of workouts is crucial. The Sixers need a healthier, better conditioned and more explosive Harden as they build around him and Joel Embiid.
