Sixers star Ben Simmons has a NSFW response for social media trolls

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is used to being judged harshly. He was the number 1 pick in his draft, he has had a successful start to his career, but he has yet to really take that next step and become the all-around force the team needs him to be.

He showed glimpses of that in Friday’s win over the Boston Celtics where he made huge plays down the stretch in the fourth quarter to seal the win. However, he still got judged a bunch due to the fact that he did not have a big scoring night like how Joel Embiid did.

At the end of the day, the team got the win and that is all that matters.

“It’s a new season,” said Simmons. “I’m just focusing on winning, do what I can to win with this thing. I don’t go on Instagram, I don’t go on Twitter so I can’t really answer the question in terms of what people are saying. I don’t give a [expletive], honestly.”

Please be advised that the tweet below contains language that some might consider offensive.

The team is now 8-0 when they have their projected starting lineup out on the floor so that is the only number that matters to Simmons at the end of the day. The team just needs to keep growing.

“Unless Doc says something or Sam or people coming to me, then it’s a different story,” Simmons added. “I’m trying to win games and that’s why we’re all here. To win.”

They’ll look to get another win on Saturday against the Detroit Pistons on the road.
