Silver Cliff area man dies after Marinette County crash

MARINETTE – A Marinette County man died after a one-vehicle crash Monday in the town of Wagner, according to Sheriff Jerry Sauve.

The crash was reported about 3:08 p.m. by a man who said he saw a westbound pickup leave the road at Four Lakes Road, hit a tree and roll over.

Ronald Knier, 71, of the town of Silver Cliff, was treated by Wausaukee Rescue Squad and Bay Area/Aurora paramedics and taken to Aurora Bay Care Area Hospital in Marinette, where he was pronounced dead, Sauve said.

He was alone in the truck. The crash, which occurred about 8 miles east of Wausaukee, remains under investigation.

The fatality is the second this year in Marinette County.
