Missing Muncie teen found in Georgia; Silver Alert canceled

MUNCIE, Ind. — A statewide Silver Alert issued for a missing Muncie teenager was canceled Wednesday.

Melissa Pease, Muncie deputy police chief, said city police learned Tuesday night that 16-year-old Haylee Cummings had been "located safely."

That word came from sheriff's deputies in Bartow County, Georgia.

The alert was officially canceled at 7:06 a.m. Wednesday.

Cummings had last been seen about 7:15 a.m. Jan. 19 and was "believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance." according to last week's release..

Pease said on Jan. 19 that Cummings was believed to be with Ryo Ratcliff, 18, reported missing from Bartow County, which is northwest of Atlanta.

The deputy chief said Wednesday that the case remained under investigation.
